The Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) recently declared their take on Ranveer Singh following his abrupt exit from Don 3. Chief Advisor Ashoke Pandit revealed to the media that they made repeated attempts to resolve the matter privately before issuing a non-cooperation directive. The directive was announced on May 25, 2026, after filmmaker Farhan Akhtar approached the federation regarding the dispute in April.

FWICE claims Ranveer Singh ignored multiple meetings

Speaking to ETimes, Pandit said the federation had tried several times to initiate a dialogue with the actor in hopes of settling the issue amicably. “So we very strongly tried our best. We sent him invitations thrice. There was no response, and then finally he sent mail when he came to know that we are having a press conference, saying that this doesn’t come under a jurisdiction,” Pandit said.

He further added, “So with that said, fine, if you feel so strongly. Toh theek hai. Koi baat nahi. Doesn’t matter. So that is a basic thing, we will wait. We’ll sit with the producer body. Will sit with different associations, and we’ll see how things happen.”

Pandit stressed that the matter cannot continue indefinitely and insisted that both sides need to arrive at a resolution. According to Pandit, the dispute should not be treated “like some family dispute,” adding that people in the industry eventually have to work together despite differences.

Ranveer Singh breaks his silence

Singh’s spokesperson issued a detailed statement defending the actor’s silence amid the controversy. The statement read, “Ranveer Singh holds the highest regard for the film fraternity and for everyone associated with the Don franchise. Throughout the recent developments surrounding Don 3, he has consciously chosen to maintain silence, believing that professional discussions and personal equations are best handled with dignity, maturity and mutual respect.”

It further added, “While several narratives and speculations have surfaced over time, Ranveer has never considered it necessary to respond publicly or contribute to conjecture. His focus remains firmly on his work and the commitments ahead. He continues to hold deep respect and goodwill for all those involved and sincerely wishes the franchise continued success. Choosing restraint and grace in moments like these has always been a conscious decision on his part, and he will continue to maintain the same stance.”

About the Don 3 dispute

After Shah Rukh Khan headlined Don and Don 2, Ranveer Singh was officially announced as the new face of the franchise in 2023. However, reports of tension between Ranveer and producers surfaced in late 2025 after the actor allegedly walked away from the project. Farhan later informed FWICE that Ranveer’s sudden exit caused financial losses worth Rs. 45 crore, as the film had already entered pre-production.
