Deepika Padukone is embracing an exciting new chapter as she prepares to welcome her second child with Ranveer Singh. Shortly after announcing her pregnancy, the actress has reportedly resumed work commitments, returning to the sets of her upcoming film King, co-starring Shah Rukh Khan and Suhana Khan.
Deepika Padukone resumes shoot post pregnancy announcement
According to reports, Deepika returned to filming on April 21, just days after making her pregnancy announcement on April 19. She is said to have dived straight into an action-packed schedule, shooting a high-intensity sequence alongside Shah Rukh Khan.
A source revealed that the actors filmed over two days on a specially constructed set at Golden Tobacco Studio in Vile Parle. Deepika reportedly appeared in an all-white look while performing a stylised combat sequence, aligning with the film’s grand, larger-than-life narrative.
High-octane action sequences planned
The sequence is said to involve a “hyper-stylised fight” featuring multiple opponents, with both stars engaged in an elaborate action setup. Director Siddharth Anand is also reportedly planning another major action scene set against a sandy backdrop, which will be filmed at a studio in Mira Road at a later stage.
Star-studded cast and release plans
King is shaping up to be a big-ticket action thriller, with Abhishek Bachchan reportedly playing the antagonist. The film is also expected to feature Anil Kapoor and Jackie Shroff in key roles.
Helmed by Siddharth Anand, the film is slated for a theatrical release on December 24, 2026, aiming to capitalize on the Christmas holiday window.
