David Dhawan hits back at trolls
Ahead of Border 2 hitting theatres, Varun Dhawan was heavily criticized, with many questioning his casting and performance. However, once the film proved to be a commercial hit, the narrative quickly shifted. Reacting to this, David Dhawan took a dig at trolls, saying, “But kya hua? Sab ulat gaya na!”—pointing out how the criticism vanished after the film’s success.
Sharing the advice he gave his son during the tough phase, the veteran filmmaker said, “Today, everything is about work. I told him this will pass. After a few days, the same people will say he is very good.”
He also praised Varun’s performance in Border 2, revealing how deeply it moved him. “I liked his last film so much. His work in Border 2… I even got emotional watching his performance,” he shared.
On Varun’s growth as an actor
Talking about his son’s evolution, David Dhawan added that Varun has grown significantly over the years. “He has definitely improved and is on the right track. He understands the value of his work, respects the people around him, and always tries to give his best,” he said.
