by masalabuzz

With just a month left for its release, excitement around War 2—starring Hrithik Roshan and N. T. Rama Rao Jr.—is building rapidly. Directed by Ayan Mukerji, the film marks the sixth installment in the ambitious YRF Spy Universe spearheaded by Aditya Chopra. After dropping a high-octane teaser earlier, the team is now gearing up to unveil the theatrical trailer by the end of July.

War 2 trailer set for mid-next week release

According to sources, Yash Raj Films and Ayan Mukerji have finalized the trailer cut and are planning to release it by mid-next week. The nearly three-minute trailer is designed to amplify excitement and curiosity, showcasing the three leads—Hrithik Roshan, NTR, and Kiara Advani—in powerful avatars.

Interestingly, this strategy marks a shift for YRF, which had recently begun releasing trailers just weeks before the film’s debut, starting with Pathaan. This time, the studio is returning to a more traditional approach, unveiling the trailer ahead of the film’s songs.

About War 2

War 2 serves as the sequel to the 2019 blockbuster War and brings back Hrithik Roshan as Agent Kabir after six years. It also introduces NTR as Agent Vikram, setting up an intense face-off between the two characters. The film is slated for a theatrical release on August 14, 2025, in Hindi and Telugu.

Beyond its lead cast, the film is expected to include major twists that could shape future storylines within the YRF Spy Universe.

Large-scale action and music

The film features six high-scale action sequences shot across multiple international locations, making it one of the most ambitious projects in Indian cinema. Additionally, two songs have been filmed—one romantic track featuring Hrithik and Kiara, and another showcasing a face-off between Hrithik and NTR. The music is composed by Pritam Chakraborty.

With anticipation steadily rising, the upcoming trailer is expected to significantly boost the film’s buzz ahead of release.
