After making her mark on the big screen, Ananya Panday stepped into the OTT space with Call Me Bae in 2024. With audiences loving her as Bella aka Bae Chowdhary, the makers are now gearing up for an exciting second season. Recently, the first look of the show was unveiled, introducing Shruti Haasan as a new addition to the cast.
Call Me Bae returns with Season 2
It’s been over a year since Call Me Bae entertained viewers with its light-hearted yet dramatic storyline. The eight-episode series followed Bae, a wealthy socialite-turned-influencer who is forced to start from scratch in Mumbai after her life takes an unexpected turn. Packed with humor and chaos, the show struck a chord with audiences.
Now, the makers have dropped the first glimpse of Season 2, promising an even more entertaining ride. This time, Bae is ready to take on the world—but not without facing fresh drama and complications along the way.
New twist with ‘nayi behen’
While much of the original cast—including Vir Das, Gurfateh Pirzada, Varun Sood, Vihaan Samat, Muskkaan Jaferi, Niharika Lyra Dutt, Lisa Mishra, and Mini Mathur—is set to return, the biggest twist comes with the entry of Shruti Haasan as Bae’s ‘nayi behen’. Her arrival is expected to shake up the dynamics and add a new layer of intrigue to the story.
According to the teaser, Bae is now hosting her own news show and stepping into a more powerful space professionally. However, her personal life gets messier as she finds herself torn between her ex-husband and her charismatic boss. Just when things seem settled, the arrival of a new ‘sister’ threatens to disrupt her inner circle.
Behind the scenes
Directed by Collin D’Cunha, the series is backed by Karan Johar, Adar Poonawalla, and Apoorva Mehta under Dharmatic Entertainment, with Somen Mishra and Collin D’Cunha serving as executive producers.
