Veteran screenwriter Salim Khan, father of actor Salman Khan, is expected to be discharged from the hospital today. According to Hindustan Times, the 90-year-old is likely to return home on the morning of March 17, following a month-long hospital stay. He had been admitted to Lilavati Hospital on February 17 due to age-related health concerns.

Salim Khan set for discharge

Salim Khan was hospitalized after facing health complications and was placed under the care of senior consultant Dr. Jaleel Parkar. During his stay, he underwent a Digital Subtraction Angiography, a procedure carried out by neurosurgeon Dr. Nitin Dange.

Earlier updates from Dr. Parkar revealed that the veteran writer had suffered a minor brain haemorrhage. He stated that the bleeding was minimal and that a small procedure had been successfully performed. Although Salim Khan was placed on ventilator support initially, doctors indicated that his condition remained stable and he was responding well to treatment. Given his age, however, his recovery process has been slightly prolonged.

Throughout his hospitalization, Salim Khan received constant support from his family and close friends. His sons—Salman Khan, Arbaaz Khan, and Sohail Khan—were frequently present at the hospital. Several prominent figures from the film industry, including Shah Rukh Khan and Aamir Khan, also visited him during his recovery. His longtime collaborator Javed Akhtar was among those who came to check on his health.

Recently, Arbaaz Khan shared a brief update with the media, mentioning that his father’s condition had improved significantly and that he was on the path to recovery.
