Akshay Kumar joins Golmaal 5, drops first look with Ajay Devgn, Sharman Joshi and Arshad Warsi

On the occasion of filmmaker Rohit Shetty’s birthday, Akshay Kumar surprised fans of the popular Golmaal franchise with a major update. The actor confirmed that he will be part of the upcoming sequel, Golmaal 5, and shared a behind-the-scenes glimpse of his character on Saturday.

Taking to social media on March 14, Akshay Kumar wished Rohit Shetty and revealed his association with the film. He wrote, “Happy Birthday Rohit. On your birthday, the madness just got bigger and louder. Excited to be joining this crazy family of Golmaal 5! Let the chaos begin!” Along with the message, the actor shared a clip offering a sneak peek at the cast and crew working on the film and teasing his new avatar in the comedy entertainer.

The video also confirmed that the film has officially gone on floors, with shooting commencing on Rohit Shetty’s 52nd birthday. Several cast members, including Kunal Kemmu, Arshad Warsi, Ajay Devgn, Shreyas Talpade, and Tusshar Kapoor, are seen sitting together and reminiscing about their memorable moments from the long-running franchise, which began with the first Golmaal: Fun Unlimited in 2006.

In another highlight, Sharman Joshi is shown returning to the series, reuniting with the gang as they reflect on their journey over the years. Later in the clip, Akshay Kumar makes a surprise entry and is warmly welcomed by the group, officially joining the ensemble cast for the new installment.

Reports earlier suggested that the actor has set aside around 18 days from his packed schedule to shoot for the film. Meanwhile, Akshay is also preparing for the release of his upcoming supernatural horror comedy Bhooth Bangla, which marks his reunion with filmmaker Priyadarshan.

Currently, Golmaal 5 is in the production stage, and the makers are yet to announce its official release date. 🎬
