In a recent conversation with PEOPLE, Priyanka opened up about why security is an important part of their family’s outings.

Priyanka Chopra talks about protecting her daughter’s privacy

The Baywatch actress explained that as her daughter grows older, she and Nick are trying to step back from constant public attention so that Malti can enjoy as much normalcy and anonymity as possible. At the same time, Priyanka acknowledged that being the child of famous parents naturally attracts curiosity.

She shared that she does not want her daughter to grow up feeling fearful, judgmental, or overly skeptical of people. Instead, Priyanka hopes Malti will learn to understand the attention while also having the freedom to make her own choices about how public she wants her life to be.

Recalling a concerning incident, the actress revealed that her daughter was once recorded after school and followed home by someone she described as a “normal person.” According to Priyanka, experiences like these highlight why they sometimes rely on security during outings, mainly to ensure their child is not filmed or photographed without consent.

Priyanka also reflected on the unique challenges of raising children in the age of social media and constant public attention. She noted that parents are still learning how to navigate these situations, especially when it comes to giving children both privacy and independence.

Despite the precautions, Priyanka said she wants her daughter to grow up with kindness and openness toward others, while also remaining aware of the importance of personal safety.
