Earlier this year, news of Saif Ali Khan’s knife attack deeply shocked the film industry and his fans alike. During that difficult period, his family stood firmly by his side, united by concern and strength. Recently, Sara Ali Khan opened up about those challenging days while appearing on her aunt Soha Ali Khan’s podcast, All About Her.
Sara Ali Khan reflects on standing by her father
Sara joined her grandmother, legendary actress Sharmila Tagore, on the podcast, where the three women spoke candidly about family, legacy, and resilience. When asked what she has learned from her grandmother, Sara shared that dignity and grace matter most — especially during life’s toughest moments.
Reflecting on the incident involving her father, Sara said that the family had been through a great deal together. She spoke with quiet strength about how watching her grandmother handle the situation left a lasting impression on her.
“As a family, we’ve been through quite a lot, especially earlier this year with Abba,” Sara shared. She added that seeing her grandmother remain composed and grounded throughout the ordeal was deeply inspiring. “Badi Amma has always carried herself with dignity, and that’s something I truly aspire to learn and live by,” she said.
A lighter memory amid tough times
The conversation also shifted to warmer memories, including Sharmila Tagore’s 80th birthday celebration, which brought the entire family together. During the chat, the veteran actress recalled a light-hearted and humorous moment involving Sara and Amitabh Bachchan.
Sharmila shared that when Saif was once hospitalised for a few days, Amitabh Bachchan had visited the same hospital to see his father. During one such visit, a young Sara struck up a conversation with him — confidently speaking in Hindi, though not all of it quite made sense.
Recalling the moment fondly, Sharmila said that Bachchan jokingly corrected Sara, telling her that one of the words she used wasn’t actually Hindi. The exchange left everyone laughing, including Saif, despite his discomfort at the time. Sara herself doesn’t remember the incident clearly, but the family still cherishes it as a moment of laughter during an otherwise stressful period.
Through her reflections, Sara Ali Khan highlighted the importance of family, grace, and finding moments of warmth even in difficult times — values she continues to carry forward in her own life.
