Chennai Love Story crosses Rs. 65 crore worldwide
Backed by the strong brand value of SKN and Sai Rajesh, Chennai Love Story generated impressive pre-release theatrical and non-theatrical business. Its successful theatrical run further highlights the potential of content-driven cinema supported by a clear creative vision.
The film’s success also strengthens Sai Rajesh’s reputation as a writer-producer with a keen understanding of emotional storytelling and contemporary audiences. After his acclaimed work on Colour Photo and Baby, Sai Rajesh once again created characters that connected strongly with viewers. He also entrusted the directorial responsibility to debutant filmmaker Ravi Namburi.
For producer SKN, Chennai Love Story marks another major success and completes a hat-trick of blockbusters, further establishing his position as one of the notable producers in Telugu cinema.
Trade circles have also drawn comparisons between Chennai Love Story and the remarkable theatrical run of Baby. The latter emerged as a cult blockbuster, collecting over Rs. 100 crore in the Telugu market and going on to win a National Award. The successful duo is now taking Baby to Hindi audiences with its official remake, which is currently in production. Sai Rajesh is directing the Hindi version, while SKN is producing it in association with Mythri Movie Makers.
