BTS member V recently opened up about a personal health concern during a Weverse Live session with fellow member Jungkook. In an emotional conversation, the singer revealed that he has been experiencing reduced hearing in one ear for approximately two and a half years. V shared that this was the first time he had spoken publicly about the issue with ARMY, BTS’ fandom, and admitted that he has now started taking his health more seriously.

Speaking about his condition, V revealed, “I’ve never told ARMY about this before, but I think it’s been about two and a half years. My hearing has gotten worse.” The 30-year-old singer also explained the difference in his hearing ability between both ears, saying, “If one ear is at about 100, I can only hear about 30 with the other.”

The revelation appeared to concern Jungkook, who asked V about his recent visit to the hospital and whether the hearing issue had returned.

V went on to explain that the problem became more noticeable during his military training. He said that initially, he did not fully understand the seriousness of the condition because of the attitude of those around him. “It got a little worse in the military, and since I was surrounded by people who exercised a lot, everyone said, ‘It’s a matter of mental strength,'” V shared.

V admitted that hearing those comments affected the way he viewed his own condition. “After that, I kind of convinced myself that it was a matter of mental strength.”

Jungkook, however, immediately challenged that mindset and encouraged his bandmate not to overlook a persistent health issue. Responding to V, he simply said, “You shouldn’t do that.”

Their conversation highlighted the importance of seeking proper medical attention rather than dismissing ongoing health concerns.

V also revealed that he is currently taking medication for the condition and has begun making regular medical visits a priority. “I’m going to the hospital regularly,” the singer said, reassuring fans that he is now paying closer attention to his health.
