Sonam Kapoor and Anand Ahuja have revealed the name of their second son, Rudralokh Kapoor Ahuja. While the family is currently affectionately calling him Rudra, the actress also shared the spiritual inspiration behind the name and its meaningful connection to elder brother Vayu. Along with the heartfelt note, Sonam posted a few unseen family photos featuring the couple and their two children.

Sonam Kapoor has finally introduced her second child’s name to fans. Taking to Instagram, the actress shared a heartfelt message explaining the significance and origin of the name, while also posting adorable glimpses of her family life.
Revealing the name of her younger son, she wrote, “In the presence of a divine force that has once again changed our lives forever. Born on the sacred occasion of Ekadashi under the blessings of Lord Vishnu, our second son feels like destiny fulfilled — a beautiful spiritual connection with his older brother and a blessing we hold close to our hearts. With immense love and gratitude, we welcome Rudralokh Kapoor Ahuja.”
Explaining the meaning behind the powerful name, Sonam added that it is deeply rooted in Vedic philosophy. “In the Vedas, Rudra — derived from the word rud, meaning ‘to roar’ — represents immense strength and divine energy. He is believed to remove suffering and embodies storms, breath, healing, and renewal.”
The actress further shared that the name also symbolically connects with their firstborn, Vayu. “Rudra shares a profound bond with Vayu, the life force that flows through every being. Our elder son carries the name of Vishnu, the protector and sustainer of life. With Rudra, there is a sacred balance — breath and strength, preservation and transformation, each complementing the other. May Rudra grow into someone fearless, kind, aware, and full of light and power,” she expressed.
The actress and Anand welcomed their second child on March 29 and later announced the happy news through social media.
