HanuMan, starring Teja Sajja in the lead role, originally hit theaters on January 12, 2024. Directed by Prasanth Varma, the superhero entertainer emerged as a huge blockbuster and became the first installment in the Prasanth Varma Cinematic Universe (PVCU).
Now, nearly two years after its theatrical debut, the makers have officially announced that the film will return to cinemas in a brand-new 3D format.
HanuMan 3D release date announced
Through their official social media handles, the team behind HanuMan unveiled a fresh poster confirming that the 3D version of the film is scheduled to release worldwide on June 25, 2026.
Sharing the announcement, the makers stated that the blockbuster film, which won hearts globally and earned National Award recognition, is set to return with an immersive 3D cinematic experience that promises to make every moment feel larger than life.
Set in the fictional village of Anjanadri, HanuMan follows Hanumanthu, a young man who gains the divine powers of Lord Hanuman and uses them to protect his people from Michael, also known as Mega Man, who seeks the same powers for selfish ambitions. The story eventually revolves around Hanumanthu’s battle to stop Michael and save the world.
Written and directed by Prasanth Varma, the film also stars Amritha Aiyer, Varalaxmi Sarathkumar, Samuthirakani, Vinay Rai, and Vennela Kishore in key roles.
As the launchpad of the PVCU franchise, the cinematic universe also includes upcoming projects such as Indra and Mahakali, featuring actors like Bhoomi Shetty, Rohit Saraf, and Akshaye Khanna.
Additionally, Jai Hanuman, the sequel to HanuMan, has also been announced, with Rishab Shetty set to play the titular character.
On the work front, Teja Sajja was last seen in Mirai, directed by Karthik Gattamneni. The fantasy action film featured Manchu Manoj as the main antagonist, while Jagapathi Babu, Jayaram, Shriya Saran, and Ritika Nayak appeared in pivotal roles.
A sequel titled Mirai: Jaithraya, featuring Rana Daggubati in a co-lead role, has also been officially announced.
