Discussions about the lead actor for Ashneer Grover’s biopic have been making rounds online for quite some time. After Imran Khan denied being associated with the project, reports suggested that Aamir Khan had come on board to play the lead. However, the latest buzz suggests that the actor has also exited the film following creative differences with filmmaker Rahul Mody.
Has Aamir Khan Exited Ashneer Grover’s Biopic?
In a major casting development, Aamir Khan has reportedly stepped down from the much-anticipated biopic on entrepreneur and Shark Tank India judge Ashneer Grover. According to a report by Bollywood Hungama, the actor parted ways with the project due to creative differences with director Rahul Mody.
A source quoted in the report said, “Aamir is fascinated by the world of start-ups and was keen to get into the zone with the Ashneer Grover biopic. He sat on the script and developed it to the best of his sensibilities. But eventually, he ended up having creative differences with Rahul Mody, leading to the duo parting ways.”
Despite the high-profile exit, the film’s core team reportedly remains committed to the project. Director Rahul Mody and actress Shraddha Kapoor, who is attached to the film as both the leading lady and a co-producer, are said to be moving forward with the biopic. Shraddha is expected to portray Ashneer Grover’s wife, Madhuri Jain Grover.
Following Aamir Khan’s reported departure, the makers are now searching for a new lead actor. Reports suggest that Rahul Mody and Shraddha Kapoor have already begun discussions with two to three prominent, relatively younger actors for the role of Ashneer Grover.
The source further revealed, “The real-life couple is now looking to recast the film and get a relatively younger name to play the part of Ashneer Grover. The conversations are on with two-three top names, and the cast is expected to be locked soon.”
The yet-untitled biopic is expected to chronicle Ashneer Grover’s rise in India’s start-up ecosystem, his stint in the spotlight, and the high-profile corporate controversies that followed.
