Television actors Rubina Dilaik and Abhinav Shukla have once again grabbed attention after opening up about their reality TV journey and the intense public scrutiny their marriage faced. During a recent vlog featuring Hina Khan and Rocky Jaiswal, the couple revisited an alleged remark made by actor Gaurav Khanna about their relationship during the Bigg Boss 19 phase. Here’s what happened.
Rubina Dilaik and Abhinav Shukla react to Gaurav Khanna’s alleged remark
Speaking on their YouTube channel the4POV, Rubina and Abhinav recalled the time when Gaurav Khanna was reportedly being considered for Bigg Boss 19. Rubina revealed that a mutual friend had asked Gaurav why he and his then-wife, Akanksha Chamola, were not participating in the reality show together.
According to Rubina, Gaurav allegedly replied, “Rubina-Abhinav ki tarah apni shaadi ki dhajiya thodi na udaa ni hai,” implying that he did not want his marriage to be publicly scrutinised the way theirs had been.
The comment was seemingly aimed at Rubina and Abhinav’s stint on Bigg Boss 14, during which the couple openly discussed the challenges they were facing in their marriage. They felt the alleged remark was insensitive given the circumstances.
The conversation has resurfaced shortly after reports of Gaurav Khanna and Akanksha Chamola’s separation. During her appearance on Lock Upp 2, Akanksha confirmed that the couple had decided to part ways after nearly ten years of marriage and had been living separately for the past year.
Reacting to the situation, Rubina pointed out the irony, saying that Gaurav had allegedly mocked their marriage, while his own personal life had now become a topic of public discussion after Akanksha spoke about their divorce on a reality show.
Abhinav Shukla also shared his perspective, suggesting that Gaurav may have intended for the comment to eventually reach them since it was reportedly made to one of his close friends. Taking a dig at the actor, Abhinav remarked that the statement had indeed reached them and added that he felt he was now “having the last laugh.”
