Dhurandhar, Ranveer Singh is set to commence shooting for Pralay in September 2026, with a major production schedule planned in Australia.
According to sources close to the development, the actor has already begun preparing for the film and is deeply immersed in its world-building process.
“Ranveer will begin filming Jai Mehta’s directorial in the second half of 2026. A substantial portion of the shoot is scheduled in Australia, and he has already kick-started his preparations. Given the film’s scale and genre, it demands extensive physical as well as emotional preparation,” revealed a source.
A significant part of Pralay will be filmed in Australia, with the project being mounted alongside technicians who have previously worked on several international productions. The film is currently in an advanced stage of pre-production, with Jai Mehta and his team working extensively on location to bring the ambitious zombie thriller to life.
The source further revealed that Ranveer Singh has been actively involved in the creative development of the project alongside the director and writing team.
“Pralay will be a VFX-heavy film. Jai and his team are working relentlessly on the screenplay, visual design, and the larger zombie universe. Ranveer has also been participating in creative discussions on an almost daily basis to help shape the film,” the source added.
Mounted on an estimated budget of Rs. 300 crore, Pralay is expected to be the most expensive standalone film of Ranveer Singh’s career so far, making it one of the industry’s biggest bets in the zombie-survival genre. The actor has reportedly placed immense faith in Jai Mehta’s vision, backing the debutant director based on the strength of the script.
While the makers are yet to make an official announcement, Kalyani Priyadarshan has been cast as the female lead, marking her Bollywood debut. The film reportedly follows the story of a married couple battling for survival in a dystopian version of Mumbai amidst a zombie outbreak.
