The Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) has now spoken about the growing controversy surrounding Don 3 after filmmaker Farhan Akhtar reportedly informed the body about Ranveer Singh’s alleged exit from the much-awaited film.

FWICE Chief Advisor Ashoke Pandit, President Birendra Nath Tiwari, and Honorary General Secretary Ashok Dubey addressed the media and stated that firm action had been taken after internal discussions within the organisation.

“No FWICE member will work with Ranveer Singh”

While speaking about the decision, Tiwari confirmed that a non-cooperation directive had come into immediate effect. “The non-cooperation notice has been enforced immediately. No member associated with the film body will work with Ranveer Singh,” he stated.

He further explained that the restriction would continue unless the actor personally communicates with the federation. “Jab tak Ranveer se baat nahi ho jaati. Jab tak wo aage aake baat nahi karte, tab tak ye non cooperation lagu rahega,” he added.

FWICE also released an official statement that read, “Taking into account the conduct displayed toward the Federation and the stakeholders involved with the project, the office bearers of FWICE have decided to impose a Non-Cooperation Directive (NCD) against Mr. Ranveer Singh.”

FWICE willing to settle the matter

Even with the strict action, the federation clarified that it is open to resolving the issue through mutual discussion. The statement further mentioned, “FWICE remains open to meeting Mr. Ranveer Singh to understand his side of the matter and work towards an amicable and final resolution in the interest of all parties involved.”

Ranveer Singh was previously announced as the lead for the third installment of the Don franchise. However, reports suggest that his alleged exit from the project caused losses of nearly Rs. 45 crore to Excel Entertainment.

In his complaint to FWICE, Farhan Akhtar reportedly also mentioned that he faced professional setbacks as an actor because his dates had already been blocked for directing the film, which had entered the pre-production stage.
