The Kannada film and television industry is grieving the sudden demise of popular actor-producer Dileep Raj. The 47-year-old reportedly passed away in the early hours of Wednesday, May 13, 2026, after suffering a massive heart attack at his residence in Bengaluru.

The unexpected death of Dileep Raj has left the Sandalwood industry in shock. The actor, who had been actively promoting his recent project Love Mocktail 3, reportedly suffered a cardiac arrest and was immediately taken to a hospital. Despite medical efforts, he could not be revived.
Following the heartbreaking news, several celebrities and fans expressed their grief on social media. Among them was Rishab Shetty, who paid tribute to Dileep Raj and remembered him as not only a talented artist but also a genuinely kind-hearted person.
Dileep Raj began his journey in theatre before moving into television, where he gained recognition through the serial Janani. He later appeared in several popular shows including Ardha Satya, Rangoli, Kumkuma Bhagya, Mangalya, Malebillu, Preetigaagi and Rathasapthami.
He later transitioned to films and earned appreciation for his performances in movies such as Boy Friend, U-Turn and Orchestra Mysuru. His breakthrough role came with the blockbuster Milana alongside Puneeth Rajkumar.
Apart from acting, Dileep Raj also worked as a dubbing artist and lent his voice to Chetan Kumar in the cult gangster drama Aa Dinagalu. He also ventured into production through his banner DR Creations and backed successful television projects like Paaru and Naa Ninna Bidalaare.
His final social media update reportedly urged audiences to support his film Nimma Vasthugalige Neeve Javaabdaararu, which released earlier this year.
Dileep Raj is survived by his wife Nanditha and family.
