Billie Eilish – Hit Me Hard and Soft: The Tour is set to bring Billie Eilish’s sold-out Manchester concerts to audiences worldwide through an immersive cinematic experience crafted by acclaimed filmmaker James Cameron.

The concert film captures the energy and emotion of Billie’s 2025 tour and marks her latest venture into the world of concert documentaries after earlier projects like Happier Than Ever: A Love Letter to Los Angeles and Billie Eilish: Live at the O2. This time, however, the Grammy and Academy Award-winning singer teamed up with James Cameron for a groundbreaking 3D experience packed with behind-the-scenes footage, live performances, and intimate moments from the tour.

James Cameron praises Billie Eilish’s magnetic stage presence

Ahead of the film’s India release, James Cameron opened up about collaborating with Billie and described the emotional intensity she brings to every performance. The legendary director revealed that he personally came up with the idea of creating a 3D concert film around the singer’s tour.

“She’s in constant motion,” Cameron said while describing Billie’s performances. “Sometimes she’s just running flat out up and down the stage, which is about half the size of a football field.”

The filmmaker also spoke about the unique connection Billie shares with her audience, comparing her influence to a musical instrument that emotionally synchronizes thousands of people at once. “It’s like she has 20,000 backup singers,” he explained, before adding that she is “like a tuning fork at the middle of it.”

According to Cameron, the concerts became far more than just live performances, transforming into emotional communal experiences where fans collectively shared joy, sadness, and excitement alongside the singer.

Billie Eilish reveals the scale behind the production

Billie Eilish also reflected on the massive effort required to bring the ambitious project to life. The production reportedly used around 20 cameras filming simultaneously to capture every possible angle and emotional beat of the concerts.

The singer revealed that months of planning went into ensuring the film delivered a truly immersive viewing experience. “It took months of prep to make sure that we had every single shot and every single angle and every single moment of lighting all worked out,” Billie shared.

She also emphasized the importance of spotlighting her touring band throughout the film, explaining that capturing the chemistry and contribution of the musicians was deeply meaningful to her. “There were small but important moments that I wanted to be sure to include,” she said.

Billie Eilish – Hit Me Hard and Soft: The Tour is scheduled to release in Indian theatres on May 15, 2026.
