Ranveer Singh’s much-awaited film Dhurandhar 2, directed by Aditya Dhar, is off to a flying start at the box office even before its release.

As of 10 PM on March 17, the spy-action drama has sold around 6.70 lakh tickets across the top national chains—PVR INOX and Cinépolis—for its opening day, including paid previews.

Out of this, roughly 3.70 lakh tickets are for the paid preview shows, while about 3 lakh tickets are for the opening day itself. With momentum building quickly, the film continues to see strong demand as release day approaches.

Strong momentum ahead of release

With nearly 17 hours still left for preview sales, Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge is expected to cross the 4 lakh mark in preview bookings alone. Opening day sales are also projected to settle between 4 and 5 lakh tickets in national chains.

If the film hadn’t included paid previews, early estimates suggest it would have already crossed the 5 lakh mark more quickly, putting it in competition with some of the biggest openings ever recorded.

Among the biggest advance bookings ever

Based on current trends, Dhurandhar 2 is on track to rank third among the highest advance bookings in Hindi cinema within national chains, behind only Avengers: Endgame and Pathaan.

Preview collections alone are expected to bring in over ₹35 crore nett, while opening day earnings could go beyond ₹60 crore nett. Without the split between previews and opening day, the film might have been looking at a historic single-day total of over ₹90 crore.

That said, industry tracking often combines preview and opening figures for reporting purposes, even though they are traditionally kept separate.

Overall, early forecasts place the film’s combined opening (including previews) in the range of ₹97–115 crore nett, with a central estimate of around ₹105 crore nett.
