Gaurav Khanna Clarifies He Has Received ₹50 Lakh Prize for Bigg Boss 19: ‘Please Don’t Exaggerate It’
A few days ago, Gaurav Khanna, the winner of Bigg Boss Season 19, surprised fans when he mentioned that he had not yet received the ₹50 lakh prize money from the show. His statement quickly sparked speculation online, with many wondering why the payment hadn’t arrived even though the season ended in December last year.
However, the actor has now cleared up the confusion and confirmed that he has received the prize money.
Gaurav Khanna Explains the Confusion
In a recent interview with The Times of India, the television actor clarified that he has already received the ₹50 lakh cash prize, along with the car and other vouchers promised to the winner.
According to him, the misunderstanding happened because the YouTube vlog he uploaded on March 9, 2026 was actually recorded around 40 days earlier, when he was visiting his hometown during winter.
By the time the vlog was uploaded, the payment had already been processed.
“Actually, this issue has been exaggerated,” the Anupamaa actor explained. “The vlog was posted recently, which made people think it was recorded at that time, but that wasn’t the case.”
Payment Came After the Vlog Was Recorded
Gaurav also mentioned that he had already clarified the situation in the caption of the vlog, where he noted that he had received the prize money and vouchers later.
“But when the vlog was originally recorded, I was still waiting for them,” he added.
The actor further explained that delays in such payments are not unusual in the television industry, and he wasn’t particularly worried about it.
‘Please Don’t Make a Big Deal Out of It’
In the vlog, Gaurav had responded to a fan’s question about whether he had received everything promised after winning the Bigg Boss trophy in the Bigg Boss 19 finale, hosted by Salman Khan.
At the time, he had simply explained that such processes can take a couple of months, especially in television projects.
Even then, he said he was confident the payment would arrive eventually.
Now that the matter is settled, Gaurav has requested fans not to overhype the issue, saying the situation was blown out of proportion unnecessarily.
