Alpha release date announced
Alia Bhatt and Sharvari Wagh are stepping into the acclaimed YRF Spy Universe with their upcoming action thriller Alpha. Notably, the film is the first female-led spy thriller in the franchise, which previously delivered hits such as Ek Tha Tiger, War, and Pathaan. The makers recently revealed the official release date along with a striking poster to build excitement among fans.
Directed by Shiv Rawail and produced by Aditya Chopra, Alpha will hit theatres worldwide on July 10, 2026. The film also features Anil Kapoor and Bobby Deol in key roles. The screenplay has been written by Shridhar Raghavan, Shiv Rawail and Ishita Moitra.
Initially, Alpha was scheduled to release on April 17, 2026. However, since it was set to clash with Salman Khan’s film Battle of Galwan, industry insiders speculated that the makers might shift the release date. With the film now locked for July, fans believe this could be the final release schedule for the movie. Alpha marks the seventh installment in the YRF Spy Universe.
Earlier reports suggested that Alia Bhatt and Sharvari will feature together in a grand special song for the film. According to a source, the track is designed to be a visually stunning and high-energy sequence showcasing the two leads in a never-seen-before avatar.
Despite already boasting a strong ensemble cast, the film is set to feature a special appearance by Hrithik Roshan. As previously reported, the actor will reprise his role as Agent Kabir from War in a crossover appearance within the YRF Spy Universe.
A source revealed that Hrithik Roshan will play the mentor to the characters portrayed by Alia Bhatt and Sharvari, marking the first crossover of Agent Kabir into another film in the franchise and hinting at larger plans for the universe.
