Kabir Singh Almost Met Ranbir Kapoor’s Vijay Singh Onscreen — Here’s Why It Didn’t Happen
Fans of Sandeep Reddy Vanga almost got the ultimate crossover: Kabir Singh (Shahid Kapoor) sharing a frame with Vijay Singh (Ranbir Kapoor) in Animal. But as Shahid recently revealed, the dream moment never came to life.
In a chat with Dainik Bhaskar, Shahid explained that during the making of Animal, Vanga had actually approached him with the idea of including one scene featuring Kabir Singh. “Jab Animal bhi ban rahi thi, actually Sandeep had come to meet me. He wanted one scene of Kabir to be there in that, but woh ho nahi paaya. Toh unke mann mein ye thought tha. But wo ho nahi paaya,” Shahid shared.
So why didn’t it happen? According to Shahid, it boiled down to scheduling conflicts and other practical hurdles. “Wo dono characters unke hain, wo duniya unki hai. Toh unke saath unko jo mann mein aayega karne ke liye, wo karenge,” he added. (Both characters belong to him; that world is his. So whatever he wants to do with them, he will.)
Sandeep Reddy Vanga had previously hinted at the idea on the Game Changers podcast, saying he didn’t want to force a cameo just for the sake of it. He realized that dropping Kabir into Animal might feel unnatural, and after a few days of consideration, he decided to let the idea go.
While the crossover didn’t happen this time, fans can at least imagine the moment — two of Vanga’s most iconic, talked-about characters almost colliding onscreen.
