Paresh Rawal Speaks Out on Hera Pheri 3 Controversy: “Without Babu Rao, It’ll Be a Disaster”

The Hera Pheri franchise, starring Akshay Kumar, Suniel Shetty, and Paresh Rawal, is one of Bollywood’s most beloved comedies. Since the announcement of the third instalment, fans have been buzzing—and worried—about delays and behind-the-scenes disagreements. Now, Paresh Rawal has addressed all the rumors and set the record straight.

In an episode of The Lavari Show, the National Award-winning actor confirmed that the film will definitely happen. The delays, he explained, are due to a technical issue between Akshay Kumar and the makers, not anything involving him personally. “All this news about Akshay suing me for Rs 25 crores—it’s just like kachva chaap agarbatti,” Rawal joked. “Once the technical matter is resolved, I’ll sign the film.”

Rawal also made it clear how crucial his iconic character Babu Rao is to the franchise’s success. “Even at the cost of modesty, I’m saying this: if they try to make Hera Pheri without Babu Rao, it will be a disaster,” he quipped.

Reassuring fans, he added, “It’s simple. If this gets resolved between the two parties, I will sign the papers. Nothing to do with me, but it will happen 100%.”

Director Priyadarshan also weighed in, emphasizing that the third film cannot compromise the legacy of the original. “I cannot attempt a third part unless I can truly do justice to the first film. The first part was born, but the third one shouldn’t let it die.”

With Rawal and Priyadarshan both committed to preserving the franchise’s magic—and the Babu Rao factor intact—fans can breathe easy: Hera Pheri 3 is coming, and it promises to stay true to the comedy that made the originals legendary.
