Hanuman Ansh has officially emerged as a HIT at the box office, with the devotional drama recording its biggest day of the theatrical run on its fourth Friday. The film had already crossed the Rs. 4 crore nett mark by the end of evening shows and is expected to finish the day around Rs. 6 crore nett. This will take its running total beyond Rs. 17 crore nett, while the weekend could see the film reach Rs. 25 crore nett or even move towards the Rs. 30 crore mark.
At this point, the film has sealed its success at the box office.
Hanuman Ansh emerges as the sixth HIT Hindi film of 2026
Hanuman Ansh is now the sixth Hindi HIT of the year after Border 2, Dhurandhar 2, Bhooth Bangla, Dhamaal 4 and Awarapan 2. While most of these films benefited from established franchise value, Bhooth Bangla was not technically part of a franchise, though it carried a Bhool Bhulaiyaa-like appeal.
In the case of Hanuman Ansh, the biggest driving force has been its subject. The film is a biopic of a Hindu spiritual figure who enjoys a strong following. Positive audience reception and reports suggesting that the film is well made have further boosted its box-office prospects.
The film initially appeared to be heavily dependent on the Delhi-UP belt, but its reach has expanded considerably. Maharashtra and Gujarat are now also contributing strongly, allowing the film to perform well across multiple Hindi circuits.
Hanuman Ansh stages an extraordinary turnaround
Released on August 7, Hanuman Ansh opened to only around Rs. 10 lakh nett and ended its first week at approximately Rs. 90 lakh. The film then slowed down in its second week as the Independence Day releases took away a significant share of its showcasing.
However, the third week changed everything.
The devotional drama made a remarkable comeback, collecting more than Rs. 10 crore nett during its third week. It has now gone a step further in its fourth week, recording a stunning Rs. 5 crore-plus nett on Friday alone.
The momentum has made the film’s final destination increasingly difficult to predict. With Raksha Bandhan falling today, the holiday could provide another major boost. The advances for Saturday are looking stronger as well, raising the possibility of further growth over the weekend.
Janmashtami next week could also provide another strong day for the film and potentially extend its remarkable run.
Hanuman Ansh turns into a box-office phenomenon
Runs like this remain extremely rare. A film that opened to around Rs. 10 lakh nett has transformed into a genuine box-office HIT and is now recording its biggest collections nearly a month into its theatrical run.
Last year saw Mahavatar Narsimha create a similar box-office phenomenon, and Hanuman Ansh has now delivered another extraordinary example of audience-driven momentum.
With the film continuing to gain strength rather than slowing down, its final lifetime total could end up significantly higher than initial expectations. Later this year, Ramayana is also scheduled to arrive, and given its scale and subject, it could potentially create a box-office phenomenon of an even larger magnitude.
