After the underwhelming box office performance of Retro, actor Suriya is preparing for the release of his upcoming film Vishwanath And Sons. On March 16, the actor unveiled the teaser, giving audiences their first glimpse of the story and characters.
In the teaser, Suriya appears as Sanjay Vishwanath, a 40-year-old professional pistol shooter who represents the nation in international competitions and earns recognition through his achievements. Actress Mamitha Baiju plays Maddy, a lively and carefree young woman who is nearly half Sanjay’s age. The teaser suggests that Maddy develops feelings for him and hopes to build a life together, while Sanjay hesitates because of the significant age difference between them.
The 1-minute-44-second teaser ends on a suspenseful note, showing Sanjay holding a baby. Although the teaser does not clarify the child’s identity, it hints that the baby could be connected to his personal life.
Visually, the teaser presents a colorful, lighthearted, and youthful tone with a romantic undercurrent. The pairing of Suriya and Mamitha Baiju appears fresh and well-suited to their respective roles. The film also features Radhikaa Sarathkumar—who recently starred in the successful film Thaai Kizhavi—along with Raveena Tandon in important roles. However, details about Raveena Tandon’s character have not yet been revealed.
The film is written and directed by Venky Atluri and produced by Suryadevara Naga Vamsi and Sai Soujanya under the banners of Sithara Entertainments and Fortune Four Cinemas, with presentation by Srikara Studios. The film’s music is composed by G. V. Prakash Kumar, while cinematography is handled by Nimish Ravi and editing by Navin Nooli. Production design is led by Banglan.
Vishwanath And Sons is aiming for a grand theatrical release in July 2026. The film is particularly important for Suriya, as his previous releases, Retro and Kanguva, did not perform well at the box office. With this project, the actor will be hoping for a strong comeback. 🎬
