Big Director Told Dhurandhar’s Ayesha Khan To Fix Her Nose & Teeth To Get Work: “Who Are You To Tell Me?” – Actress Recalls Shocking Casting Experiences

Ayesha Khan, who recently appeared in Dhurandhar in the popular dance track Shararat, has opened up about the uncomfortable and unsolicited “appearance advice” she received from people in the industry. Despite being praised for her beauty and screen presence, the actress revealed that she was once told to “fix her nose” and even “change her teeth” if she wanted better opportunities in films.

Currently gearing up for the release of Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon 2 alongside Kapil Sharma, Ayesha reflected on these unpleasant experiences during a conversation with Galatta India.

Ayesha Khan Reveals Hurtful Comments About Her Appearance

Ayesha recalled that it was never reputable filmmakers who made such remarks, but rather coordinators or random individuals claiming to “guide” her career. She shared:

“I never had a director tell me this. It was always a coordinator or some random person telling me, ‘You need to change your nose.’ I was shocked. Firstly, I love my nose. I think I have a beautiful nose. And secondly, who are you to tell me what to change about my face?”

She added that such people often have no real authority in casting and simply project their own insecurities:

“These are the kind of people who have nothing better to do with their lives. What else are they even going to do?”

She Was Also Asked To Change Her Teeth During a Casting

Ayesha also narrated another unsettling incident that took place during an audition for a horror film.

The director — a very famous name in the industry — was present during the casting. She delivered her audition confidently, and the filmmaker appreciated her performance. But then came an unexpected remark from a member of the casting team:

“They said since it’s a horror film, it’s fine. But if it was a regular film, I’d need to get my teeth changed. I couldn’t believe what I was hearing. I was genuinely happy before that, smiling, thinking I did well in the audition.”

Despite the disturbing comment, Ayesha was told she was likely to get selected — but the remark stayed with her.

Ayesha Khan Shines in Dhurandhar & Shares Gratitude

In Dhurandhar, Ayesha appears with Krystle D’Souza in the energetic number Shararat. After watching the film, she penned a heartfelt note thanking director Aditya Dhar and casting director Mukesh Chhabra:

“Am I really a part of ‘Dhurandhar’? Someone please pinch me! The world that Aditya sir has created is unbelievable. Within 15 minutes, you forget that the actors are stars — you only see the world and the characters. Forever grateful for this opportunity.”

Ayesha’s Response Sends a Strong Message

Her refusal to bow down to the toxic beauty standards often whispered within the entertainment industry sends a strong message:

She embraces her natural features
She refuses to let criticism affect her self-worth
She believes talent matters more than conforming to “industry expectations”

Ayesha Khan’s honesty adds to the ongoing conversation about body image, self-acceptance, and the importance of celebrating individuality in the entertainment world.
