In the first episode of Lock Upp 2, Akanksha Chamola shocked everyone after she announced her divorce from Gaurav Khanna. While the sudden announcement left fans heartbroken, Akanksha has quickly made it clear that she is looking forward to the next chapter of her life.
During the latest episode, she candidly expressed her desire to step away from romance entirely, stating, “I am not planning to fall in love again at the moment; I want to enjoy my freedom.”
As the contestants began settling into the rigorous environment of Farah Khan and Riteish Deshmukh’s reality confinement, fellow inmate Shreya Kalra asked Akanksha if she was open to finding love again after her split.
Akanksha shut down the idea immediately, reflecting on how young she was when she first tied the knot. “I got married when I was 24,” she expressed, adding that she spent her entire adult life navigating the responsibilities of a marriage, and right now, her focus is on herself, her career, and her peace.
For those who missed the premiere episode, Akanksha told the hosts and her co-contestants, “Gaurav and I are getting a divorce. Yeah, we’ve been separated, living separately for the last one year. It wasn’t public, but that’s my secret.”
She maintained that the separation has been entirely amicable, clarifying that things are not bad between them, and they still talk to each other. “We don’t think that we are compatible as partners because we both see a very different future,” she added, after staying married to the Bigg Boss 19 winner for 10 years.
