The romantic action drama O’ Romeo, featuring Shahid Kapoor and Triptii Dimri in the lead roles alongside Nana Patekar, Avinash Tiwary, Tamannaah Bhatia, and Farida Jalal, earned approximately Rs 4.50 crore during its third week at the Indian box office. The film collected nearly Rs 35 lakh on Thursday, marking a 60 percent decline from its second-week performance.
Directed by Vishal Bhardwaj, the movie has now crossed the Rs 58 crore nett mark by the end of its 21-day theatrical run. The Shahid Kapoor-led film currently faces no major competition until the release of Dhurandhar: The Revenge, starring Ranveer Singh. However, the film appears to be slowing down significantly at the box office.
Based on current trends, O’ Romeo is expected to conclude its theatrical run around the Rs 60 crore nett range, depending on its performance over the coming weeks.
Despite the star-studded cast and promotional efforts, the film has struggled to generate strong box office numbers. Much of its recent collections have been supported by the Buy-One-Get-One (BOGO) ticket offers. While such promotions can create the impression of higher net box office figures, they often reduce the distributor’s share or increase promotional and advertising costs.
Even if the film had performed slightly better—similar to movies like Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya—it still might not have been sufficient to recover its overall production cost, as the budget for O’ Romeo was relatively high compared to its box office potential.
