Tu Yaa Main Box Office Update: Adarsh Gourav and Shanaya Kapoor Film Struggles With Rs 5.25 Crore in 10 Days

Tu Yaa Main, starring Adarsh Gourav and Shanaya Kapoor, has had a modest run at the box office so far. The survival thriller collected Rs 1 crore in its second weekend, bringing its total earnings to Rs 5.25 crore over 10 days, including Rs 4.25 crore from the opening week.

Backed by Colour Yellow Productions and Bhanushali Studios, the film hasn’t managed the kind of growth the makers were hoping for. Weekdays are expected to see further drops, making it difficult for the film to cross the Rs 10 crore mark during its full theatrical run.

Daily Box Office Snapshot

Here’s how Tu Yaa Main performed day by day:

DayNett Collection
Friday (Week 1)Rs 60 lakh
SaturdayRs 1.50 crore
SundayRs 80 lakh
MondayRs 40 lakh
TuesdayRs 45 lakh
WednesdayRs 35 lakh

2nd FridayRs 20 lakh
2nd SaturdayRs 40 lakh
2nd Sunday (est.)Rs 40 lakh
Total (10 days)Rs 5.25 crore

Why the Slow Growth?

The film, a crocodile survival thriller, tells the story of a young couple fighting for their lives against a deadly creature. Despite being directed by Bejoy Nambiar—known for Wazir (2016), Taish (2020), and Dange (2024)—the movie hasn’t resonated enough with cinema audiences.

Industry observers suggest that smaller and mid-budget films like this are struggling because viewers now see them more as OTT content rather than must-watch theatrical releases. Many believe that extending the OTT window from the usual 8 weeks to around 6 months might help such films reach a wider audience and revive their box office potential.

While Tu Yaa Main fared slightly better than its rival O’Romeo, it hasn’t shown the kind of upward momentum that could turn it into a commercial hit.

Bottom Line

The survival thriller has had a moderate reception, performing reasonably in the first weekend but now facing a steep decline. With a total run likely under Rs 10 crore, the film’s box office performance highlights the challenges faced by small and mid-budget films in today’s cinema landscape.
