Vicky Kaushal pays heartfelt tribute to 21-year-old war hero Arun Khetarpal ahead of Ikkis release
As the release of Ikkis approaches, Vicky Kaushal took a moment to remember the bravery of 21-year-old martyr Second Lieutenant Arun Khetarpal. In a video shared by the film’s makers, Vicky appears visibly moved as he reflects on the young soldier’s courage.
“Twenty-one—at this age, life feels like it’s just beginning. College, friends, family, maybe you’re living the same moments,” he says. “But real-life heroes, at 21, are different from all of us. Absolute legend.”
He continues, “Twenty-one-year-olds in the army live this life every day. Time is a cunning thing; it waits for no one. But when a lion steps onto the battlefield, history changes. Second Lieutenant Arun Khetarpal was 21, and he will forever remain 21.”
Vicky’s heartfelt words capture the extraordinary courage and sacrifice of the youngest Param Vir Chakra recipient, whose heroism during the Battle of Basantar in the 1971 India–Pakistan War continues to inspire.
