Rajkummar Rao is all set to tickle the audience’s funny bone once again—but this time as a miser whose penny-pinching ways end up putting his wife, played by Sanya Malhotra, in trouble. Ahead of Toaster’s release on Netflix on April 15, 2026, the makers have unveiled a quirky and entertaining trailer.
Toaster trailer out
Directed by Vivek Das Chaudhary and produced by Patralekhaa, Toaster is gearing up for its OTT debut. On April 4, 2026, the official trailer was released, offering a fun glimpse into this comedy featuring Rajkummar Rao and Sanya Malhotra.
The nearly three-minute trailer begins with Rao’s character, Ramakant, anxiously confessing to God about his lifelong habit of being extremely frugal. Soon, viewers see just how far this ‘pyara kanjoos’ is willing to go to save money. His biggest dilemma begins when he is forced—at his wife’s insistence—to gift an expensive toaster at a wedding.
Things take a chaotic turn when the newly married couple separates, and Ramakant becomes obsessed with retrieving the costly gift. After all the wedding presents, including the toaster, are donated, he sets out on a mission to track it down. This leads him to an orphanage run by a warden played by Farah Khan.
Chaos, comedy, and a risky mission
While attempting to recover the appliance, Ramakant lands in a series of hilarious yet risky situations. During his undercover quest, he witnesses a serious accident and finds himself caught in a whirlwind of chaos, confusion, and danger. His desperate attempts to reclaim the toaster ultimately put his own life at risk, promising audiences a rollercoaster of laughter and madness.
