Director Sandeep Reddy Vanga has unveiled the first-look poster of his much-anticipated film Spirit, and he’s done it right on New Year—staying true to a tradition fans will instantly recognise. Much like Animal, whose first announcement dropped at midnight on New Year’s, Spirit now kicks off 2026 with a dark and striking reveal.
Shared on social media, the chilling poster features leads Prabhas and Triptii Dimri in an intense, intimate frame. Prabhas is seen with his back turned, bearing deep wounds stitched and wrapped in bandages, while Triptii calmly lights his cigarette. The visual sets the tone for a gritty, no-holds-barred narrative.
Prabhas appears in a rugged new avatar, sporting long hair, a thick beard, and a moustache. With a glass of alcohol in one hand and the other resting casually at his waist, he exudes a raw, dangerous energy. Triptii, on the other hand, keeps things understated yet powerful, dressed in a grey saree and maintaining a composed, almost haunting calm.
Sharing the poster, Vanga wrote, “INDIAN CINEMA… witness your AJANUBAHUDU / AJANUBAHU. Happy New Year 2026.” The film’s official page added, “You loved what existed before. Now fall in love with what you never knew existed…”—hinting at something darker and more intense than ever before.
Spirit marks the first collaboration between Prabhas and Sandeep Reddy Vanga, and also sees the Kalki 2898 AD star step into a cop role for the first time. Reports suggest that Triptii Dimri, who shot to fame with Animal, may be playing a doctor in the film. The cast also includes Vivek Oberoi, Prakash Raj, and Kanchana in key roles.
Interestingly, the film’s announcement video was released on Prabhas’ 46th birthday, echoing the promotional strategy used for Ranbir Kapoor’s Animal. While Prakash Raj is said to be playing a Superintendent of Police, Prabhas is expected to portray a former IPS officer who is removed from service under mysterious circumstances.
With its intense first look and a powerful creative team behind it, Spirit is already shaping up to be one of the most talked-about theatrical releases of 2026.
