Ranbir Kapoor’s Animal Park Sequel to Roll Cameras in Mid-2027; Director Teases ‘War Between Look-Alike Brothers’
After the December 2023 release of Animal, fans were left buzzing over the post-credit scene teasing a sequel—Animal Park. Now, director Sandeep Reddy Vanga has confirmed that the follow-up will begin shooting in mid-2027 and promises a bigger, bolder spectacle.
Speaking after Animal’s Japan release, Vanga said, “Animal Park will start once I finish my current film. There will be more animals in the film because Aziz is also an animal. Keeping that in mind, it will be a war between two look-alikes, so I thought Animal Park would be the right title. It will be more aggressive than the first.”
Fans will be thrilled to know that Ranbir Kapoor will reprise his role as Ranvijay Singh, and for the first time, take on the antagonist Aziz Haque as well. “I can’t wait to play both roles this time. It is very inspiring for me. We are discussing ideas, and I can’t wait to play Ranvijay and Aziz,” Ranbir shared.
The first Animal was an action-packed drama following Ranvijay Singh as he returned to protect his father and seek revenge against those who threatened him. The film starred Bobby Deol, Rashmika Mandanna, Triptii Dimri, and Anil Kapoor, and ended on a cliffhanger that set the stage for the sequel. Animal Park is expected to see Ranbir in dual roles as cousin brothers Ranvijay and Aziz, promising a high-voltage face-off.
Outside of Animal Park, Ranbir is also busy with Love & War, an action-romantic film directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, starring Vicky Kaushal and Alia Bhatt alongside him.
With Vanga promising more intensity and Ranbir stepping into double duty, Animal Park is already shaping up to be one of the most anticipated films of 2027.
