Ranbir Kapoor spent Valentine’s Day this year connecting directly with fans — and he had some big updates to share.

The actor went live on Instagram through the official account of his lifestyle venture, ARKS, on February 14, 2026. During the short livestream, he answered questions about his upcoming projects and some of his most loved films. Naturally, the topic of sequels came up.

‘Brahmastra 2’ Is Happening — And Soon

When asked about the future of Brahmastra Part Two: Dev, Ranbir didn’t hold back his excitement.

Brahmastra 2 is in the works, we shall start that movie very, very soon — sooner than you expect,” he said, hinting that fans might not have to wait as long as they thought.

The sequel to Brahmastra: Part One – Shiva has been one of the most anticipated projects in recent years. With the first film laying the foundation for a larger cinematic universe, audiences have been eager to see where the story heads next — especially with the mysterious character of Dev set to take center stage.

Ranbir’s latest comments suggest that the ambitious fantasy franchise is finally gaining momentum again.

No Plans for ‘Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani 2’

However, when it came to Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani, Ranbir was clear — there won’t be a sequel.

Addressing ongoing fan demand for a follow-up to the 2013 coming-of-age romantic drama directed by Ayan Mukerji*, he explained that he believes the film ended on the right note.

A lot of you guys want part 2, but there are so many new movies, new directors, and new ideas to work with. I think Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani had the perfect end. So I don’t think it warrants a part 2,” he said.

For many fans, the film remains a comfort classic. But Ranbir’s perspective is rooted in moving forward creatively rather than revisiting stories that already feel complete.

With that, the actor has both raised excitement for Brahmastra 2 and gently shut down speculation around a YJHD sequel.

For now, it looks like the future holds magic and mythology — not a return to Bunny and Naina’s world.
