Mardaani 3 Becomes Franchise’s Highest Grosser, Nears Rs 50 Crore Finish

Mardaani 3 continued its steady run in its fourth weekend, adding Rs 1.35 crore to its tally, including Rs 60 lakh on Sunday alone. With this, the film’s total now stands at Rs 46.70 crore nett at the Indian box office.

In the process, the Rani Mukerji-led cop drama has officially become the highest-grossing installment of the franchise, surpassing Mardaani 2, which had a lifetime total of Rs 46.30 crore. The milestone was achieved on its fourth Sunday.

Heading Toward a Rs 50 Crore Finish

The film is now in the final stretch of its theatrical run. If current trends continue, Mardaani 3 is expected to wrap up its lifetime collections around the Rs 50 crore nett mark.

That would be a strong result, especially for a female-led film in the post-pandemic era. Notably, Mardaani remains the only successful female-led franchise in mainstream Hindi cinema — a significant achievement in today’s box office landscape.

Smart Budgeting Helps Profitability

One major challenge for films recently has been ballooning production costs. Projects that once cost “X” a few years ago are now costing double — or even triple — that amount.

In this context, Mardaani 3 has performed well financially. While its budget is reportedly about twice that of Mardaani 2, the film benefited from solid non-theatrical recoveries, easing overall financial pressure.

The theatrical share is expected to close at around Rs 25 crore, ensuring the film ends its run as a profitable venture.
