Jailer 2 Update: Shah Rukh Khan May Join Rajinikanth in March 2026 Shoot
Superstar Rajinikanth is all set to reprise his iconic role as “Tiger” Muthuvel Pandian in Jailer 2, the highly anticipated sequel slated for a mid-2026 release. Directed by Nelson Dilipkumar, the film is creating waves not just for its star cast, but also for a rumored special appearance by Shah Rukh Khan.
According to a report from Valai Pechu, Shah Rukh Khan is expected to join the Jailer 2 set in March 2026 for a 7–8 day shoot. This cameo is said to be the last portion of filming, effectively wrapping up the movie. However, the makers have not officially confirmed this yet, so fans should take it with a pinch of salt.
Star-Studded Lineup
Alongside Rajinikanth, the sequel brings back Mohanlal and Shiva Rajkumar in their previous roles. Mithun Chakraborty and Vidya Balan will play key parts, while SJ Suryah is expected to step into a negative role. To add a dash of glamour, Nora Fatehi will reportedly perform a special dance number.
What’s Next for Rajinikanth and Shah Rukh Khan
After Jailer 2, Rajinikanth will headline a new project tentatively titled Thalaivar173. Directed by Cibi Chakravarthy (known for Don), it promises to be a light-hearted action entertainer. The film was initially set to be directed by Sundar C., but he stepped away due to prior commitments.
In addition, Rajinikanth will share the screen with Kamal Haasan in a project tentatively titled KHxRK. The title promo is scheduled for release on February 21, 2026, at 12:07 PM and is expected to run for over three minutes, including a theatrical release.
Meanwhile, Shah Rukh Khan is busy filming King, an action-packed movie directed by Siddharth Anand. The film also stars Suhana Khan, Deepika Padukone, Abhishek Bachchan, and Raghav Juyal, and is slated for a Christmas 2026 release on December 24.
