Tamannaah Bhatia is reportedly set to play the lead in the next instalment of the popular horror franchise, Ragini MMS 3. Fans were eagerly awaiting the film, but reports now suggest it may be delayed and released later than initially planned.
Director Steps Away, Project on Hold
According to Variety India, Ragini MMS 3 is currently on hold. Sahir Raza — who has previously directed acclaimed web series like The Married Woman, Illegal – Justice, and Out of Order — was expected to helm the project.
However, the director reportedly had to step away due to scheduling conflicts with his other commitments. Raza is currently serving as a showrunner on a Netflix series, which requires his daily presence on set, making it difficult to manage both projects simultaneously.
With Raza stepping down, producer Ektaa Kapoor is said to be on the lookout for a replacement director. Nothing has been officially confirmed yet, so fans will have to wait for updates.
Interestingly, this new instalment is expected to take the franchise in a slightly different direction, exploring stronger supernatural elements compared to the previous films.

For context, the Ragini MMS series began in 2011 as a found-footage horror film starring Rajkummar Rao and Kainaz Motivala. Its 2014 sequel, Ragini MMS 2, featured Sunny Leone in the lead. The franchise has built a loyal fanbase for its mix of horror and suspense, so expectations are high for the next chapter.
Tamannaah’s Busy Work Front
Tamannaah Bhatia isn’t slowing down despite the delay. She is next set to appear in a key role in the Shahid Kapoor-starrer O’ Romeo, an action thriller directed by Vishal Bhardwaj. The film also stars Triptii Dimri, Nana Patekar, Avinash Tiwary, and Disha Patani, and is slated for release on February 13, 2026.
Looking ahead, Tamannaah will also be seen in V. Shantaram alongside Siddhant Chaturvedi. In addition, she’s playing the co-lead in the upcoming Tamil film Purushan, directed by Sundar C, known for his hit Aranmanai franchise.
With such a packed schedule, it’s clear Tamannaah is keeping busy on multiple fronts, while fans patiently wait for the next chapter of the Ragini MMS saga.
