Ananya Panday and Lakshya are teaming up for a romantic drama that explores a modern-day love story. Titled Chand Mera Dil, the film is set to release in theatres on May 22, 2026. Along with announcing the release date, the makers also unveiled the first look, featuring the duo as a love-struck couple.
Chand Mera Dil release date announced
After some delay, Chand Mera Dil is finally ready for its theatrical release. On April 6, 2026, producer Karan Johar revealed the release date along with the first-look posters. Sharing the update, he wrote, “A love story where life happens faster than love. Chand Mera Dil in cinemas 22nd May, 2026.”
The posters capture different phases of the lead characters’ relationship. From falling in love effortlessly to navigating the complexities of growing up together, the visuals hint at an emotional journey. As life takes unexpected turns, their relationship faces challenges, with the tagline suggesting, “When love grows faster than life… Not every first love gets a second chance.”
A delayed but awaited release
The film was initially slated for a 2025 release, as announced back in November 2024. However, the timeline was pushed, reportedly because the makers wanted to perfect its music, given that it is a musical love story.

Directed by Vivek Soni and produced under Dharma Productions, Chand Mera Dil marks Lakshya’s return to the big screen after his 2023 film Kill. He was last seen in Aryan Khan’s directorial debut show The Ba**ds of Bollywood*.
Meanwhile, Ananya Panday began 2025 with Kesari Chapter 2 and will also be seen in Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri alongside Kartik Aaryan.
