After the success of Tere Ishk Mein, filmmaker Aanand L Rai is already planning his next ambitious project—this time, an intense period love story that could reunite Kriti Sanon and Dhanush.
Sources reveal that discussions are currently underway, with both actors responding positively to the script. However, formal agreements are yet to be finalized as the writing process continues in full swing. If all goes as planned, the untitled film is expected to go on floors by the end of this year.
A source shared, “Talks are ongoing, and while both Kriti and Dhanush have shown interest, the paperwork is still in progress. If everything aligns, the film could begin production towards the year-end.”
Interestingly, the upcoming project will differ significantly from Tere Ishk Mein. While the earlier film had a contemporary setting, this new venture is rooted in a period backdrop and is said to be an epic romance—reminiscent of the grand love stories Hindi cinema is known for.
Aanand L Rai, who shares a strong working relationship with both actors, is reportedly excited about the possibility of bringing them together again. He considers Kriti Sanon and Dhanush among the most talented performers he has worked with and is keen to collaborate on a project that demands powerful performances.
“At present, the team is deeply focused on developing the screenplay and refining the narrative,” the source added.
For context, Tere Ishk Mein was made on a budget of ₹75 crore and went on to collect approximately ₹155 crore worldwide, emerging as a clean box office success.
