Dipika Kakar Develops Stomach Cyst Amid Cancer Treatment; Shoaib Ibrahim Shares Hospital Plans
Actress Dipika Kakar, who has been courageously undergoing treatment for stage 2 liver cancer since revealing her diagnosis in mid-2025, has shared another health update with fans. In a recent vlog featuring Dipika and her husband Shoaib Ibrahim, the couple revealed that doctors discovered a new stomach cyst, for which Dipika will undergo a small procedure and be hospitalized for a few days.
The good news is that after her previous tumor surgery, there has been no recurrence, and her overall health remains stable.
How It Was Discovered
The couple shared that after attending a birthday party, Dipika experienced mild stomach pain for a couple of days, which worsened on Friday night. Shoaib explained:
“Today (Saturday), the full day was of hospital visits. Everything was fine till yesterday. Dipika had mild pain in her stomach for two days, which aggravated more on Friday night. So, we visited the doctor, they got a CT scan done, and we learned that Dipika has gotten another cyst of 13mm.”
Dipika also noted that she experienced some shoulder pain, which alarmed them initially. However, doctors confirmed that the shoulder pain is unrelated to the cyst.
Procedure and Recovery
The cyst doesn’t require major surgery. The couple explained that it will be treated with a small procedure to “burn” it, and Dipika will be hospitalized for 3–4 days. Shoaib added:
“The doctor had told us that poorly differentiated and very aggressive tumors have chances of recurrence. Even though it’s in early stages now, this didn’t appear in the PT scan we did in December. We have even got blood reports done, and the range is slightly higher.”
The procedure is planned for Tuesday, February 23, and the couple expressed relief that the cyst was discovered quickly and will be taken care of soon.
