Dhurandhar: The Revenge dominates overseas box office, sets opening weekend records across major markets for Ranveer Singh

Dhurandhar: The Revenge, starring Ranveer Singh, has delivered a historic opening weekend overseas, setting new records across all major international markets including the United States, Canada, Australia, and the United Kingdom. With the exception of the U.S., the film has emerged as the biggest opener for Indian cinema overall—not just Bollywood—in these regions.

The last films to achieve such a comprehensive sweep were Pathaan and Dhoom 3, making these three the only titles in the past 25 years to accomplish this feat.

One notable absence is the Middle East market, where the film has not been released. Had it opened there, it might have challenged existing records, though it would have faced stiff competition from the Malayalam hit Aadu 3, which is performing strongly. Since it didn’t release in the region, it technically hasn’t fallen short of any record there.

Among all territories, Canada saw the biggest jump, with the film outperforming Animal by roughly 50%. Australia followed with an increase of about 45%, again surpassing Animal. These margins are even more notable considering Dhurandhar: The Revenge had already tapped into some demand before its official Friday opening, unlike Animal, which released directly on a Friday.

In the U.S., the film beat Pathaan by approximately 40%, though the numbers could have been even higher if not for limited screen capacity. Meanwhile, the U.K. recorded the smallest margin at around 15%, with Pathaan still leading on Sunday collections. The Eid festive period likely gave the film an additional boost in this market, though it may not fully capitalize on the occasion compared to other genres.

Overall, Dhurandhar: The Revenge is expected to comfortably emerge as the highest-grossing Bollywood film in Canada, Australia, and the U.S., while the U.K. may see a closer race.
