Dhurandhar Continues Box Office Domination with Record 5th Friday
Ranveer Singh’s Dhurandhar kicked off its fifth week at the box office in style, raking in approximately Rs. 8 crore nett on Friday—making it the biggest fifth Friday ever for a Hindi film. The drop from last week’s Friday is less than 50%, showing the film’s continued strong hold in theaters. The previous record was held by Chhaava, which earned Rs. 6.25 crore nett on its fifth Friday during the Holi holiday.
The film is expected to comfortably surpass Chhaava’s fifth-week total of Rs. 28 crore over the weekend. While a Rs. 40 crore weekend might have been expected from an Rs. 8 crore Friday, holiday factors may slightly temper the growth. Currently, the weekend total is projected at over Rs. 30 crore, and the full week could hit around Rs. 45–50 crore.
Milestone in Sight
So far, Dhurandhar has earned Rs. 712 crore nett in India. By the end of the weekend, it is likely to reach Rs. 735 crore nett, putting it on track to become the highest-grossing Hindi film of all time in India, surpassing Pushpa 2 (Hindi). Analysts predict the film will easily cross Rs. 750 crore, with a final tally of over Rs. 775 crore. The only remaining question is whether it can hit—or even surpass—the Rs. 800 crore nett mark.
