Chiranjeevi Honoured with NTR National Film Award; Actor Says ‘Deeply Grateful for the Recognition’

Veteran actor Chiranjeevi recently expressed his heartfelt gratitude after being honoured with the prestigious NTR National Film Award during the Gaddar Telangana Film Awards 2025 ceremony. The megastar described the recognition as a “great honour,” adding that receiving an award named after the legendary N. T. Rama Rao holds deep emotional and cultural value for him. He also thanked the dignitaries involved and congratulated fellow winners celebrated at the event.

Chiranjeevi shares note on X after receiving honour

Taking to his X (formerly Twitter) account, Chiranjeevi congratulated the winners of the Gaddar Telangana Film Awards 2025, stating that it is always a pleasure to celebrate the dedication and passion of people in the film industry.

He wrote that he was sincerely thankful to the Government of Telangana, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, Bhatti Vikramarka Mallu, and the award jury for presenting him with the NTR National Film Award. The actor added that receiving an honour named after N. T. Rama Rao is extremely special and expressed deep appreciation for the constant love and support he has received throughout his career.

Other honourees at the awards ceremony

The 2025 Gaddar Telangana Film Awards also recognized several notable personalities from Indian cinema. Alongside Chiranjeevi, veteran producer Ashwini Dutt was presented with the Nagireddy–Chakrapani Award. Actor Kamal Haasan received the Paidi Jairaj Award, while actress Jayasudha was honoured with the Akkineni Award.

Other recipients included lyricist Suddala Ashok Teja, who received the C. Narayana Reddy Award, filmmaker R. Narayana Murthy with the Kantha Rao Award, veteran director Singeetam Srinivasa Rao with the B. N. Reddy Award, and producer Ramesh Prasad, who received the Raghupathi Venkaiah Award.

Chiranjeevi’s legacy and upcoming projects

Widely considered one of the most influential stars in Telugu cinema, Chiranjeevi has enjoyed a remarkable career spanning more than four decades. Over the years, he has received numerous accolades, including multiple Filmfare Awards South and Nandi Awards.

His contribution to Indian cinema has also been recognized by the Government of India with civilian honours such as the Padma Bhushan in 2006 and the Padma Vibhushan in 2024.

On the professional front, the megastar is currently preparing for the release of his much-awaited fantasy film Vishwambhara, which has already generated significant excitement among fans and industry observers.
