Border 2 has put up a solid showing in overseas markets in its first week, collecting approximately USD 4.10 million (₹37.5 crore). When combined with its ₹247.5 crore domestic haul, the film’s worldwide gross stands at around ₹285 crore.

Interestingly, the film’s first-week overseas performance is better than Gadar 2, which had collected USD 3.75 million during the same period. That figure included USD 475,000 from the Middle East — a territory where Border 2 did not release. In markets common to both films, Border 2 is tracking about 25 per cent higher, highlighting its stronger pull abroad.

Led by Sunny Deol, the film has held up well overseas, even though — much like its India run — collections were stronger over the weekend and softened slightly on weekdays. Australia and Canada emerged as the top-performing territories, with grosses of AUD 1.43 million and CAD 1.13 million, respectively. In dollar terms, Australia delivered a first-week performance equivalent to around USD 10 million, while Canada stood at approximately USD 7–8 million.

Canada, in particular, had the potential to match Australia’s numbers but saw a dip between Sunday and Tuesday due to weather disruptions. Australia, meanwhile, benefited from a holiday boost. That said, both markets are known hubs for the Punjabi diaspora, and Diljit Dosanjh’s presence clearly added to the film’s appeal in these regions.

Overall, Border 2 has performed better overseas than expected, especially when compared to its domestic trends. As an Indo–Pak war film, the genre traditionally faces limitations abroad, particularly due to reduced patronage from sections of the Pakistani and Bangladeshi diaspora. However, overseas markets have evolved in recent years, driven by fresher Indian migration — especially in countries like Canada and Australia — which has helped expand the audience base for such films.

Looking ahead, Border 2 is expected to reach around USD 5.25 million by end of day Sunday, with a projected lifetime overseas total of approximately USD 6.50 million. With stronger holds, the film could even push closer to USD 7 million. For comparison, Gadar 2 ended its overseas run at USD 6.88 million, including USD 840,000 from the Middle East.
