Border 2 Box Office Day 23: Film Inches Closer to ₹300 Crore Mark
Border 2 witnessed a strong jump on its fourth Saturday, collecting an estimated ₹2 crore — a solid 60% growth compared to Friday. The boost was slightly higher than usual, thanks to Valentine’s Day, even as the film faced competition from O’Romeo and Tu Yaa Main.
With this surge, the military drama’s total has reached ₹299.25 crore nett in India. The film is now all set to cross the ₹300 crore milestone on its fourth Sunday, with its Valentine’s weekend expected to wrap up at around ₹4.25 crore.
Strong Weekends, Steady but Modest Weekdays
While the film has consistently performed well over weekends, it hasn’t been able to maintain the same pace during weekdays. The weekday trend has remained average since the first week itself.
Even so, Border 2 has comfortably emerged as a Clean Hit at the box office. At one stage, it even looked like it could achieve Super Hit or Blockbuster status. However, the steady but unremarkable weekday numbers limited its overall box office potential.
Regional Performance
Backed by T-Series Films and JP Films, the film has performed especially well in the northern circuits.
Rajasthan is nearing Blockbuster territory.
Delhi-UP and East Punjab have delivered Super Hit-level business.
Surprisingly, the film underperformed in Gujarat and CPCI (Central India), circuits that typically respond strongly to a Sunny Deol starrer.
Final Run Expectations
Starring Sunny Deol, Varun Dhawan, Diljit Dosanjh, and Ahan Shetty, the film is now trending toward a lifetime finish of around ₹305 crore nett in India.
With profits estimated at roughly 35%, the film’s performance is considered commendable. It has become the second highest-grossing film of Sunny Deol’s career and a career-best grosser for the rest of the cast.
