Akshay Kumar and Priyadarshan Spill Details on Haiwaan, Stay Tight-Lipped on Hera Pheri 3
Akshay Kumar and Priyadarshan are back in the spotlight, busy promoting their upcoming horror-comedy Bhooth Bangla. During a recent interaction with Screen, the duo also opened up about their other projects, Haiwaan and Hera Pheri 3.
On the topic of Haiwaan, Priyadarshan revealed that the film could release roughly 90 days after Bhooth Bangla. Akshay Kumar added, “Somewhere in August…” giving fans a rough timeline to look forward to. The gritty action thriller sees Akshay in a negative role, with Saif Ali Khan stepping in as the protagonist. Filming is already wrapped, and the movie reportedly features a guest appearance by Priyadarshan’s favorite, Mohanlal.
As for Hera Pheri 3, both the actor and director had to confess they had “no clue” about its release. For those not following the drama, the franchise is currently tied up in a legal dispute between Firoz Nadiadwala and Vijay Kumar over the ownership rights. Vijay Kumar Singh told that he holds the IP rights and hopes to make the sequel with Akshay, Paresh Rawal, and Suniel Shetty, while Firoz is trying to sell the rights to a third party.
Meanwhile, fans can mark their calendars for Bhooth Bangla, which is set to hit theaters on April 10, 2026. The film marks the return of the Akshay-Priyadarshan duo after more than a decade—their last collaboration being Khatta Meetha in 2010. Produced by Balaji Motion Pictures, the movie boasts an ensemble cast including Wamiqa Gabbi, Tabu, Paresh Rawal, Rajpal Yadav, Asrani, Jisshu Sengupta, Mithila Palkar, and many more.
This will be Priyadarshan’s second horror film after Bhool Bhulaiyaa and his seventh project with Akshay Kumar, following hits like Hera Pheri, Bhagam Bhaag, Garam Masala, De Dana Dan, Bhool Bhulaiyaa, and Khatta Meetha. Fans have plenty to be excited about as this dynamic duo returns to the big screen.
