The mid-week elimination shocked viewers, especially with the season finale scheduled for the weekend. Known for her calm demeanor and emotional honesty, Malti—who is also the sister of Indian cricketer Deepak Chahar—had built a noticeable presence in the house before her exit.
Following her eviction, Malti sat down for an exclusive conversation with us, addressing one of the most talked-about topics of the season: her relationship with fellow contestant and singer-composer Amaal Mallik.
Malti Chahar Clears the Air on Relationship Rumors With Amaal Mallik
Rumors about a possible romantic connection between Malti and Amaal had circulated long before their entry into the house. However, Malti firmly denied any dating history, explaining that the two had met only a few months before the show began.
Speaking candidly, she said:
“I kept saying inside the house as well—I met Amaal only three months before the show started. How could I even be his girlfriend? We didn’t spend enough time together. These days people get to know one another properly before dating. It was simply a phase of getting to know each other. I was never his girlfriend. He was traveling, and so was I.”
She clarified that her statements were never intended to give the impression that they were in a relationship.

Malti revealed that she became aware of Amaal’s distancing and contradictory statements only after fellow contestant Shehbaz pointed it out to her.
She recalled:
“My statement wasn’t meant to imply anything. I didn’t even know Amaal was acting that way or saying such things. When Shehbaz mentioned it, I realized something was off. When I confronted Amaal, his body language made it clear to me that he was pretending we barely knew each other. That’s why I got angry.”
According to Malti, this inconsistency from Amaal made her defensive, as she felt he was attempting to deny their past acquaintance.
Malti Wants Amaal Mallik to Speak the Truth Himself
Malti went on to say that she expected honesty, not denial, from Amaal.
She added:
“If you know me, then just say you know me. There’s nothing to hide. But he was scared of something—only he knows what. This question should be asked to him, not me. I wasn’t afraid of anything. I was confident. So I’m not the wrong person here—you should ask him why he acted that way.”
Her remarks suggest that Malti felt disappointed, not because of rumors, but because of Amaal’s reluctance to acknowledge their brief prior connection.
